woodstock
after a thoughtful few days thinkng of fendrod we have come to the conclusion that although the venue has the fish we are targeting there are too many problems to take into consideration.
1. the place is too public, families and there dogs would be a constant disruption and then you have to think of the friday/saturday night crowd.
2. although the lake is about 13 acres the bank opposite is far too steep to think of setting up a camp and as i explained earlier the carpark side is far too open and security would be difficult. carrying your stuff would be a trek and although we did see some nice swims they were few and far between.
3. parking of any sort would be difficult, you have the carpark on the main road behind you and if you choose to fish half moon lake then your going to have to trek your gear from here...
there for i reccomend the woodstock. angler wise the lake is stunning and it holds the target fish including pike. at £45 for the first season you get to fish woodstock, morgan's pool, another lake that i have forgotten the name of lol, a canal and three stretches of the river Wye that can only be fished as a member...
if anyone has any other information to add it would be appreciated
