It seems alot of fishermen do not use, or have never heard of anyone using chick peas as carp bait.
you should give them a try, they seem to like them.
i have been using them and they seem to love them.
WORD OF CAUTION!!!!!!!!
if you buy the peas dry in packets in the supermarket, you MUST soak them for a minimoum of 12 - 24 hours then cook them for 30 - 40 mins.
a large packet will give you enough bait for several sessions while keeping you bait cost down.
Oh by the way. if your still soaking them after 24 hours they will prob start smelling pretty bad ref my previous post on chick peas.

hey guys, i have recently tried using chick peas with great results.
so i have made a new batch but.....i have an issue.
The first batch had increased in size loads and i was well impressed. (NO NOTICEABLE SMELL)
The second batch i have made have not swollen up as much and they smell pretty bad. like sick actually.
so i was was wondering is there any link between them not swelling as much and smelling?

Dried chickpea on the left - Soaked chickpea on the right

Side by side dry and soaked chick pea (uncooked)

P.S try them and if you get good results please come back and post your results, would love to hear from others who have tried them.
